Today we celebrate George Washington's birthday! On this special occasion, we would be well to come together and remember our shared history with a party of historic proportions and spectacle, as Americans did in 1932 when they threw a grand nine-month party to mark the 200th anniversary of Washington's birth. On the occasion of George Washington’s birthday, let us all express our gratitude to him for all that he did to save our liberty.
Back then, the holiday was an opportunity to reacquaint Americans with the aspirations and principles of their country's government, to separate the man from the myth through educational materials about his life and achievements, to inspire patriotism, and to have a little fun.
Because we have George Washington in the history of United States of America, we will always be proud of it. Happy Birthday to George Washington.
