This gas spring-powered monitor/TV arm desk stand is ideal if your monitor's VESA mount is on top of the monitor or if you are using heavier and bigger monitors/LED or LCD TVs.I used it with a 28" Samsung 4K monitor (LU28E510DS/ZA) whose 75x75 VESA mount is on top - (see photo). The monitor used to 'sit' lower when used with non-pole mounted brands like the one this unit replaced - see comparison photo (this ONKRON unit is on the right). The 14" long black powder-coated metal pole where the gas spring mount is attached (via an Allen screw) made a huge difference and gives the user enough flexibility for adjusting the monitor's (or TV's) height.I have so much desktop clearance now that I can flip the 28" Samsung monitor in Portrait Mode and still have several inches between the table and the monitor's lower edge. The set takes a bit of time to assemble, but it comes with a helpful user manual along with several sets of screws for VESA mounting your PC monitor or TV (up to 34") -- hence, no need for a trip to your nearest hardware store.I attached the unit on a table using just the C-clamp (min-max table thickness: 3/8" to 3-3/8"), but the set also comes with all accessories if installed via the 'grommet hole' method. The entire unit is well crafted of quality materials, and the makers even paid attention to small details like: - Small rubber pads on the VESA mount to avoid scratches on the back of your monitor/TV when using the screws, as well as to eliminate vibrations - (see photo). -The plastic cover at the back of the C-clamp also doubles as a compartment for the included two (2) Allen keys. These much-needed accessories we always misplace and can't find them when we need them (see photo).I am glad to have this ONKRON gas spring-powered monitor/TV desk stand to replace a unit that's too cumbersome to make positional adjustments. The whole point of getting these ergo desk stands for monitors/TVs is to clear up desktop real estate while giving you the ability to position them to the best viewing angle ---easily.This unit truly delivers on both. I highly recommend it for desktop computer users with more extensive and heavier monitors, off-center VESA mounts, or those who utilize their LED/LCD TVs (max of 34") as computer monitors. Finally, this stand will also save me a lot of $$ eventually. I contemplated buying an expensive 32" 4K monitor with an integrated ErgoStand. Now, I'll upgrade to a 32" 4K LED monitor (same monitor specs as the one with a built-in stand but less expensive), and I'm sure this gas spring-powered stand can accommodate it easily.
